The Opportunity

Enel X, a leading provider of energy advisory and demand management solutions, has an immediate need for a Energy Procurement Manager II to join our world-class Customer Insights organization.

Enel X has been designing, implementing, and executing large-scale energy transactions on behalf of its customers for over two decades. Wholesale energy market participants worldwide use Enel X’s Wholesale Energy team and Exchange Platform to get the best possible price and contract terms for their short, mid, and long term energy transactions. Our robust bidder network and full-service Operations team create value for buyers and sellers in every deal. Our real time online auction platform provides bidders with live feedback, driving intense competition, and delivers the best available market prices to our customers.

The Wholesale Energy Procurement Manager will manage all aspects of procurement services for assigned wholesale procurement customers, based on applicable Scope of Services, to provide unbiased and objective advice and services to those customers. These services include initial customer and market assessment, transaction strategy development, RFP management and execution, and a variety of post-transactional tasks. The Wholesale Energy Procurement Manager will seek to enhance existing customer RFP strategies while working to develop new strategies and creative solutions tailored to each assigned wholesale procurement customer. They will serve as a liaison between wholesale counterparties and wholesale procurement customers and execute and manage the company’s transactions as related to wholesale procurement services.

Primary success metrics include retention of assigned customers, revenue managed and influenced, customer satisfaction, and project completion.

What You’ll Do At Enel North America

Solicitation management

  • Event management- Build and administer electricity (brown and renewable), natural gas, and environmental commodity procurements for assigned wholesale procurement customers from pre-sale, throughout the RFP process, contracting, and provide post-procurement support (regulatory and otherwise). EPMs ensure deliverables are met within established timelines and to client specifications/expectations.
  • Problem solving- Identify mission-critical ‘red flags’ early in the RFP process and seek guidance from wholesale procurement team members to ensure the correct steps are taken to address issues. Capable of navigating through system issues and keeping procurement events on track even if issues are encountered.
  • Communication- Keep all stakeholders (customer, wholesale team, etc.) apprised of all event developments throughout the RFP processes and utilizes appropriate communication channels for sharing updates

Bidder management

  • Building and maintaining relationships with counterparties that participate within RFPs is critical. EPMs are responsible for ensuring liquidity and participation within events and leveraging their underlying relationships and knowledge to inform strategy, approach, or product selection. EPMs building and maintaining supplier relationships during and outside of procurement events by way of check-ins and conversations at industry events
  • Analytics
  • Analyze macro and micro wholesale market energy trends to develop pricing models and provide assigned customers with pricing prospective
  • Utilize market knowledge to formulate price-to-compares and reference price ranges to ensure that Customer pricing expectations are in-line with current market prices and to ensure a high probability of contract award

Who You Are

  • Working knowledge of long-term renewable energy agreement and various environmental commodities (V/PPAs, green tariffs, EACs, carbon offsets, etc.)
  • Ability to develop pricing models and analyze market trends

Requirements

What You’ve Accomplished:

  • Minimum of B.A. or B.S. undergraduate degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant energy industry experience and within customer-facing roles
  • Experience within the wholesale power and natural gas energy marketplaces, products and contracts
  • Working knowledge of long-term renewable energy agreement and various environmental commodities (V/PPAs, green tariffs, EACs, carbon offsets, etc.)

What Enel North America Offers You

The hiring range for this position is $82,700.00 to $113,700.00 per year. For remote positions, this is based on a national average base pay for this role. For positions in California this range will be specific to the location in California. The actual range may vary based on the geographic location of the chosen candidate. For all positions, the base pay actually offered will take into account various factors, including internal equity and job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
