Job Summary

Salas O’Brien is looking to fill several on-site energy manager (OsEM) positions for our leading New York City healthcare clients. Our healthcare clients include world-class medical networks that are among the nation’s premier centers for excellence in clinical care, biomedical research and medical education. The on-site energy managers will participate in a multi-year New York State initiatives aimed at identifying and evaluating applicable energy and carbon reduction projects in healthcare facilities. This initiative will encompass a strategic engagement to support implementation of clean energy projects, coordinate workforce development and training and identify operation and maintenance strategies. This position will work closely with healthcare facility managers pursuing decarbonization and clean energy in their facilities.

In This Role, You Will

  • Initiate and develop energy management plan in conjunction with applicable stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain an energy tracking and savings system
  • Review operating and maintenance strategies
  • Evaluate controls strategy optimization
  • Support clean energy workforce development
  • Maintain cross-functional energy team and hold regular meetings
  • Identify a strategy for measurement and verification of energy initiatives
  • Conduct site surveys and reports that identify energy and carbon reduction opportunities
  • Review operations and maintenance (O&M) schedule and procedures to identify operational savings opportunities
  • Identify, evaluate, and propose energy and carbon reduction projects
  • Prepare quarterly and annual reports that document results
  • Provide regular updates including summary presentations to multi-agency stakeholders

You Will Be a Great Fit If You Have

  • 5-10 years of direct energy efficiency or healthcare facilities experience
  • Professional Engineer or Certified Energy Manager preferred
  • Experience with developing energy efficiency and carbon reduction strategies in healthcare facilities
  • Business acumen and leadership skills to present energy projects to multi-agency stakeholders and facility leadership
  • Knowledge of energy savings and carbon reduction calculation methodologies
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines in fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of clean energy initiatives including beneficial electrification
  • Knowledge of energy consuming systems commonly found in healthcare facilities
  • Experience with building automation systems
  • Understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and codes as it relates to facilities operation
  • Experience with State and City utility energy efficiency programs
  • Outstanding communications (written and verbal) skills
