The Position

Electrician

Job Summary
Troubleshoots advanced hardwire control circuits.
2. Perform AB PLC program and functions, basic and troubleshooting.
3. Familiar with grounding, grid of equipment.
4. DCU 2000 maintenance internal or external.
5. Burner troubleshooting.
6. Troubleshoots advanced PLC relay instructions.
7. PerformPM programs.
8. Troubleshoots and calibrates bleach track controls.
9. Assists electrical planner and electrical coach.
10. Wears appropriate personal safety protection, follows prescribed procedures and maintains a clean and safe work area.
11. Perform other duties assigned by coach/leader or designee.
Responsibilities:
1. The employee is empowered to perform his duties as defined in the job description, work instructions, criteria sheets and forms provided for the job, to produce a product/service that meets the quality standard.
2. Employee is accountable for the quality of the product/service that they control and will take corrective action as required to correct any problem that may result in producing a non-conforming product.
3. Employee is required to report to supervisor, take corrective action.
4. Quality and Safety will not be compromised for quantity.
Measurements Performed/Tools & Gauges: Resistance/ohmeter; power condition/power factor meter; wattage/wattmeter; amperage/amp meter; temperature/oF and oC thermometer; voltage/voltage meter; sine wave/oscilloscope; temperature/thermocouple; temperature/resistive temperature device(rtd); millivolt, milli-amp, a.c. volts, d.c. volts/multi- meter.
Machines & Equipment Involved: All process and lab equipment including Allen Bradley programmable logic computers (PLC-2 and PLC-5), Fischer and Porter 5 systems, electronic and pneumatic instrumentation, hardwired control, hydralift, forklift and truck.
Working Conditions: Day and evening shift job requiring some overtime. Works mostly in plant environment. Duties split between indoor and outdoor work causing exposure to seasonal temperature variations. Requires climbing to heights of 45 feet and on slippery surfaces. Exposed to chemicals, dust, fumes, allergens, noise and radiation.
D. QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Able to read, write, and do math (including algebra, trigonometry and geometry needed for electrical calculations) at the high school or equivalent level.
Experience – (Preferred Background): Two years industrial electrical trade school or equivalent experience with 2 years of on the job training. Qualified trainer will teach electrical operating procedures and work instructions.
Skills Requirement: Able to: understand written and verbal instructions and listen attentively; understand and use PLC’s and vendor systems; read and understand blueprints, designs and operation of complex production systems; clearly describe conditions orally and in writing; analyze and resolve minor process problems; set-up, manipulate and tend equipment and or machinery; drive motorized vehicles; have valid drivers license.
Required Activities: Climbing, lifting, finger dexterity, close and tedious hand and finger movement in hazardous locations.
