About the Role

Services Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Renewable Energy Project Manager to join our team. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the advancement of renewable energy initiatives within the company.

Responsibilities

As a Renewable Energy Project Manager at Services Corporation, you will:

  • Estimate projects in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Serve as Lead Estimator, overseeing project estimates with some supervision from the Estimating Manager.
  • Prepare project estimates by gathering proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.
  • Determine labor, material, and time requirements through analysis of proposals and specifications.
  • Perform estimating takeoffs with Engineering and CAD designers.
  • Analyze regional labor rates and per diems for use in estimates.
  • Obtain quotations from vendors and subcontractors for materials and services not self-performed.
  • Collaborate with engineers, vendors, and subcontractors to develop Value Engineering ideas.
  • Conduct risk reviews and develop risk registers, identifying mitigation strategies.
  • Lead technology selection with engineering experts.
  • Generate and review project schedules and deliverables.
  • Utilize feedback from Project Engineering and Procurement on material lead times and design durations, with limited supervision from Proposal and Estimating Managers.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of company unit costs, efficiencies, and business processes.
  • Solve problems independently, with minimal support from the Estimating Manager.
  • Travel to project sites to understand construction sequences, means and methods, site conditions, and perform time-studies.
  • Maintain technical knowledge through workshops, publications, site visits, and internal cost reports.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, accepting assignments and delegating to Junior Estimators.
  • Mentor Junior Estimators to support their development and professional growth.

Qualifications

To qualify for this role, you should have:

  • Preferably a BS degree in a business or engineering discipline.
  • Experience in Solar, Renewable Energy, or Power Generation preferred.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years’ experience estimating solar construction projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of estimating fundamentals.
  • Proficiency with personal computers and MS Office applications.
  • Familiarity with estimating software programs (B2W or WinEst preferred).
  • Strong written communication skills for technical documents, formal letters, and invoices.
  • Excellent oral communication skills for presentations to diverse groups.
  • Exceptional organizational, planning, and time management skills.
  • General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus, and Unit contract pricing mechanisms.
