JOB SUMMARY:

Provides system level design and development. Contribute to development activities as well as maintenance of existing product portfolio. Contribute to the development of requirements. Maintain and track design documents and specifications. Evaluates systems, procedures, and applications by designing and conducting research and testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Hands-on technical contributor for hardware development organization.
• Collaborates with other engineers through the design, development, test, manufacturing, and operations.
• Identify and resolve hardware design issues to closure.
• Contribute in efforts to define and write design documents and project plans.
• Perform design, schematic capture, and work with PCB designer in developing printed circuit board layouts and hardware assembly drawings.
• Develop fixes for design issues and make recommendations for enhancements.
• Effectively document technical issues, changes to schematics and layouts.
• Regularly participate in technical discussions.
• Provide regular status and progress towards milestones with program leaders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong analog design skills (OpAmps, Drivers, Buffers, Isolated circuitry etc).
• Good understanding of digital design (MCUs, memory interfaces, UART etc)
• Familiarity with simulation programs (PSpice, Python,Matlab)
• Solid problem solving and analytic skills.
• Testing skills and knowledge of testing methodologies and techniques.
• Product development experience.
• Experience working on teams as well as working independently.
• Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Some PCB layout experience a plus.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• BS in electrical engineering.
• 3+ years’ experience in a product development environment.
