Job Description We are seeking an Eco-Design Decarbonization Expert. This is an expert role reporting to I&T NAM HUB Chapter leader, within the Innovation & Technology organization, the CTO NAM Eco design team aims to provide to our customers a clear environmental value on products through eco design approach deployment, to reduce the carbon footprint and preserve natural resources of our EM BU Portfolio.
  • Passionate about the environmental challenge, you will be in charge of proposing and evaluating Products Technologies and solutions to reduce the environmental impacts of our product and solution offers, support decarbonization and circular ambition definition and possible levers to deploy.

Job Responsibility

We are currently seeking an Eco design expert with a specialization in decarbonization, who will work in collaboration with other Eco design experts, Single point of contact (SPOC) of divisions in CTO I&T organization & Sustainability leaders and Eco Design directors in Divisions.

Driven by the environmental stakes, the candidate will be in charge of:

  • Validating baseline calculation for decarbonization plan of divisions through existing LCA data critical review.
  • Contributing to ambition of decarbonization definition based on eco design categories/ levers feasibility upon offers / product types.
  • Mastering existing and new tools to enable carbon evaluation from materials, to components, to products and to systems.
  • Making critical review of existing LCA data and propose technologies for improvement.
  • Supporting divisions for understanding and deploying methodologies for decarbonization evaluation (MACC curve, GHG protocol, etc.)
  • Participating to Standardization bodies on environmental topics majorly Carbon related.
  • Participating to eco design evaluation of innovation roadmap of division based on technologies involved.
  • Proposing new technologies to close the gap of decarbonization strategy.

Skills Requirement & Expertise

  • The ideal candidate will have a good technical knowledge of our products, electrical distribution systems and our customers’ applications.
  • Technical knowledge of our products, electrical distribution systems and our customers’ applications but also of the EM product portfolio
  • Understanding of the entire ecosystem linked to the different life phases of an electrical installation (prescription, specification, design, construction, implementation, operation, verification, dismantling)
  • experience in Product design and in Life Cycle Analysis for Eco-Design
  • Ability to drive change, influence, interact with all levels of the company.
  • Ability to lead an international and multi-businesses working group.
  • A passion for innovation & Curiosity in new skills and competencies development especially on environmental standpoint.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability for autonomous learning

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • BS/MS in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering from a reputed Institute
  • Advanced knowledge in life cycle analysis, environmental evaluation is a must.
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in industry or in relevant organization
