Position Summary:

 

ZEG continues to rapidly grow and is looking for a candidate to lead our power systems analytics services. As Director/Senior Manager of Power Grids Analytics, the ideal candidate must be organized, detailed oriented, thought leader, personable, engaging, and passionate about contributing to the growth of ZEG’s impact toward decarbonizing the grid. The ideal candidate will also be a subject matter expert in a range of transmission and generation related topics and have an understanding of power markets dynamics and stakeholder processes.  

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Lead/support the execution of our services including performing various generation, transmission and distribution planning analyses and preparing the deliverables for our key clients.
  • Actively participate and contribute to the industry thought leadership forums to stay updated on industry trends and promote our brand and expertise.
  • Serve as thought leader and subject matter expert in grid integration, focusing on clean and emerging technologies including renewable, energy storage, hydrogen and flexible load technologies.
  • Understand grid interconnection requirements and processes including the regulatory landscape across all major North America ISO/RTO markets.
  • Assist in business development activities including market research, lead generation, client relationship building, and proposal writings.
  • Mentor and facilitate the growth of the team members reporting to this position.
  • Collaborate with other Leadership Team members to develop strategic short term and long-term business plans and roadmaps to achieve targets.
  • Identify the opportunities and challenges associated with expanding our products and services.
  • Foster innovation and creative problem solving to address industry challenges with effective and efficient solutions.

Position Qualifications

What is Required?

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in power grids and power markets analytics and grid code compliance for North America region.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in performing basic and/or advanced power grids analytics using industry software tools including PSCAD, PSS/E, GE PSLF or PowerWorld Simulator.
  • In-depth knowledge of power market rules, mechanisms, interconnection and planning processes associated with Eastern Interconnect and/or Western Interconnect.
  • Proven track record of activities and contributions to relevant industry thought leadership forums.
  • In-depth understanding of the fundamentals of electric power systems, inverter-based resources, FACTs, and their control philosophy. 
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Excellent presentation and report writing skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Travel is expected to be approximately up to 10% of the time.
  • We conduct pre-employment drug and background screening.

 

 What is Preferred?

  •  Graduate-level degree with an emphasis on Electric Power Systems or business management.
  • Experience in either business development position or leadership position.
  • Experience in Nodal Market Analytics (SCED) using ABB PROMOD, LCG UPLAN, or PLEXUS
