Position Summary
In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and facilitating the implementation of the Dover Operational Excellence Model and the supporting leadership competencies across Dover Operating companies through training, coaching, and providing systems, resources, and tools to support operational excellence.
You will also be responsible for driving transformation through the diligent use of Operational Excellence Tools enabled by Digital Platforms and other Digital Enablers.
Success measures for this role will include operational and financial performance metrics, site operational excellence model certifications, and other relevant project completion measures.
This position requires a minimum of 50-75% domestic travel and occasional international travel.
What You’ll Do
- Work effectively with all levels of the organization globally, from frontline employees to senior leadership with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the facilitation of training, implementing workshops, and one-to-one coaching.
- Facilitate cross-functional teams through transformative Value Stream Designs, including subsequent implementation and sustaining.
- Successfully deploy the Dover Operational Excellence Model and support sites in implementing (from start to sustainment) effective improvement action plans and strategies for personal and business excellence.
- Confidently navigate a variety of manufacturing environments, global geographies and cultures, leadership styles, and business cultures.
- Understand comprehensive, cross-functional operational excellence standards and engage associates from across all business functions in identifying and closing gaps to those standards.
- Dig into business and process performance data and help teams identify key metrics and KPIs that are leading indicators of operational excellence.
What You’ll Bring
- 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience including Plant Management and/or Operational Excellence (OpEx) roles in global organizations and multi-site environments.
- A “people-first” passion to help others learn to drive change and achieve outstanding results.
- Competence in Enterprise Resource Planning, Material Requirements Planning and Manufacturing Execution Systems.
- Advanced problem-solving skills and experience successfully utilizing various methodologies including A3 thinking, problem statement definition, 5-why analysis, and identification and rapid implementation of countermeasures and sustaining measures.
- Exceptional training, assessment, coaching and influencing skills.
- Significant experience leading transformational process improvements with demonstrated results in safety, delivery, quality, inventory, and cost KPIs.
- Prior training and certification in OpEx process improvement tools and methodologies and subject matter expertise in foundational standards of operational excellence.
- Demonstrated record of achievement in leading change management across multi-site operations.
- Proficient in reading and understanding business reports, especially ERP and Financial Reports.
- Significant experience with the “Design for Operational Excellence” approach from the Institute for Operational Excellence is desired.
- A combination of both strong people leadership and technical affinity.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
