Location: Remote

Compensation: $170,000 – $210,000 + Bonus

Company Overview

The company is a fast-growing EPC contractor specializing in utility-scale solar and battery energy storage projects across the country.

The Role

As the company expands, they are seeking an experienced Director of Subcontracts to lead their subcontracting group.

Responsibilities:

  • Contract Leadership: Oversee the development, negotiation, and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, company policies, and best practices.
  • Team Management: Guide and support contract managers and specialists through contract review, modification, and closeout, including managing change orders.
  • Risk Management: Develop strategies to mitigate risks and optimize contract performance, with a focus on monitoring deliverables, milestones, and financial obligations.
  • Primary Contact: Serve as the main point of contact for contract-related inquiries, maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Legal Knowledge: Review, draft, and interpret contracts and legal documents, ensuring clarity in legal language and terms. Handle the closeout of subcontracts, including lien waivers and final documentation.
  • Compliance Oversight: Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with contractual policies, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Leadership and Mentorship: Lead and develop the Contracts team, fostering a customer-focused approach and providing mentorship for professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Subcontracting Expertise: 10+ years of experience managing subcontracting across various scopes, with expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, and change orders.
  • Legal Acumen: Strong ability to draft, review, and interpret contracts, with a deep understanding of legal jargon and contract language.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team, with a focus on mentoring and growth.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of federal regulations, with experience in ensuring compliance.
  • Industry Experience: Extensive network in the subcontracting field, ideally with exposure to both traditional and renewable energy sectors.
