Storm4 is working with a series A funded company providing lifecycle management solutions for the BESS/EV industries, looking to add a director of Sales Operations.

Their SaaS platform helps clients manage the decommissioning, collection, and recycling of industrial batteries, making it easier for businesses to manage their battery assets throughout their lifestyle.

The Director of Sales Operations will collaborate closely with the Business Development and Project Management/Execution teams, overseeing the Initiation-to-Order (ITO) process. This role encompasses the development of proposals, contract management, and ensuring a smooth transition to the project team for execution. The Director will create and implement processes that align with the demands of a dynamic and rapidly growing industry. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, high-growth environment as they expand within the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all ITO activities, including pipeline management, CRM, opportunity tracking, proposal creation, contract negotiations, and seamless handoff to the Services team.
  • Develop proposals for services related to Battery Energy Storage Systems, such as installation, commissioning, operations, maintenance, and decommissioning.
  • Craft proposals for lifecycle services targeted at the Battery Energy Storage and Electric Vehicle (EV) industries.
  • Engage with clients to gather feedback on proposals and refine competitive offerings, sharing insights with engineering and sales teams to uncover additional value and revenue opportunities.
  • Ensure excellence in all commercial operational functions.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial sales, sales operations, or sales management.
  • Expertise in evaluating, selecting, and managing suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong skills in researching customer needs and developing and communicating tailored solutions.
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel and engage directly with customers.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in Sales Operations within the on-site technical services industry.
  • Proven ability to manage, analyze, interpret, and present data.
  • Familiarity with battery standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Experience in project and people management.

Travel & Location:

This role offers flexibility in location but requires approximately 25% travel to industry events, customer sites, and headquarters in the Chicagoland area.
