Job Title: Director of Project Development

Location Preference: North Carolina, Ohio, or Virginia

Salary:

$170,000 – $200,000 + 20–25% bonus (including project and holiday bonuses) + company vehicle

A leading U.S. developer is seeking a Director of Project Development to join their team. With a pipeline of over 14 GW in development, this full-service developer manages everything from land acquisition to operations and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee site origination, project permitting, and utility interconnections.
• Develop value propositions based on costs and revenue streams.
• Collaborate with junior staff on lead generation strategies.
• Build relationships with stakeholders and community members.
• Manage development schedules, budgets, and external consultants.
• Support internal teams for successful project financing and execution.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of three years in the energy industry, with at least one year in utility-scale development.
• Experience with PV and energy storage systems preferred.
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate and business models.
• Proven team leader and effective communicator.
• Commitment to sustainability and innovative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
