Job Description

The role will focus on the delivery of multiple solar development assets in PJM territory and will lead the development tasks related to land acquisition, permitting, interconnection process, regulatory compliance, environmental studies, and all other tasks necessary for the successful development of community solar projects.

The organization has substantial backing and has a strong track record for delivering utility scale renewable energy projects. Their current pipeline is over 2Gw under development and they now need an experienced solar project developer to join the team and lead the next stage of their strategy. The position will support a ambitious VP who is looking for someone who wants to develop their managerial experience.

This is a remote position, however, frequent travel will be required.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Review green energy procurement policies and regulatory regimes across US jurisdictions.
  • Assist in identifying potential acquisitions of project development assets.
  • Travel to project sites to engage stakeholders and evaluate site conditions.
  • Evaluate projects based on technical and financial criteria.
  • Support in preparing project scopes, estimates, and technical documents.
  • Manage all project activities during development, including bid documents, timelines, and budgets.
  • Identify and resolve issues within the project lifecycle, devising risk mitigation plans.
  • Oversee project development processes like licensing, permitting, and design.
  • Coordinate contracts and consultants, ensuring effective professional services.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, coordinate project team efforts, and provide regular progress reports to senior management.

The right candidate for the role will have a wealth of experience delivering solar projects in PJM with extensive knowledge of permitting and interconnection requirements.
