Intelletec Energy are looking for an experienced Director of Origination to drive the expansion of commercial solar pipeline for a developer, owner and operator who have business across North America with a focus on the North East region. Your primary focus will be on originating projects through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), a key strategy for our growth. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the C&I solar market, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a proven track record in negotiating and securing PPAs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the development and growth of our commercial solar project pipeline, with a focus on identifying and securing opportunities through Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in the North East region.
- Lead the identification and negotiation of PPA agreements, working closely with commercial property owners, developers, and financial institutions to structure and finalize contracts.
- Conduct detailed market analysis to identify potential opportunities and trends in the commercial solar sector. Stay informed about regulatory changes and industry developments affecting PPAs and project viability.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including commercial clients, energy managers, and financing partners, to drive project origination and facilitate successful PPA agreements.
- Develop and implement a strategic plan for PPA-based project origination that aligns with company goals and maximizes market potential.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of proposals and PPA structures to prospective clients, ensuring they are tailored to meet client needs and company objectives.
- Work closely with internal teams, including project management, engineering, and finance, to ensure smooth transition from project origination to execution.
- Monitor and report on origination activities, PPA negotiations, and pipeline status to senior management. Provide insights and recommendations for strategy adjustments based on market conditions and performance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development or project origination within the solar energy industry, with a strong focus on Power Purchase Agreements and commercial/industrial projects.
- Extensive understanding of the C&I solar market, including PPA structures, regulatory environments, and financing options.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- This role is remote with travel, ideally someone will be based in Texas or the North East.
The role is compensated with base salary, bonus and commission structure (DOE).
