Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director of Manufacturing to oversee and lead the production operations for our battery manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient production strategies, ensuring high-quality standards, driving continuous improvement, and managing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing teams. This role will be critical in scaling up production, optimizing processes, and delivering world-class energy storage products to meet growing market demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of the manufacturing operations, including production, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for scaling production capabilities while maintaining cost efficiency and product quality.
  • Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as R&D, engineering, and product development to ensure smooth transitions from prototype to mass production.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure targets are met for productivity, quality, safety, and cost.
  • Drive the development and maintenance of a high-performance culture, fostering teamwork, innovation, and accountability.
  • Manage the manufacturing budget, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines.
  • Lead capacity planning and expansion efforts to meet increasing production volumes and customer demands.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, partners, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership, preferably in the battery, energy storage, or electronics sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale production facilities and scaling operations.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with managing budgets, financial forecasting, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to drive change, inspire teams, and foster a culture of excellence.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing software systems (e.g., ERP, MES).

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in battery manufacturing or energy storage technology.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, action-oriented approach.
  • Expertise in managing automation and advanced manufacturing techniques.
