Director of Engineering

we are seeking a results-oriented Director of Engineering to spearhead the development of large-scale solar energy projects in the Northeast. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead and mentor a team and make a groundbreaking impact on our client’s project portfolio.

In this role you’ll:

• Lead and empower a team of top-tier solar engineers, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
• Oversee the entire commercial and utility-scale solar project lifecycle, from initial design and feasibility studies to successful implementation and grid connection.
• Collaborate strategically with project managers, construction, finance, and other critical departments to ensure projects meet rigorous budget, timeline, and regulatory standards.
• Spearhead cutting-edge technology integration and operational process optimization to maximize project profitability and system performance.
• Ensure unwavering adherence to industry standards, environmental regulations, and robust safety protocols at every stage of the project.
• Mentor and develop your team through advanced training, fostering continuous learning and a culture of excellence.
• Forge and manage strong relationships with key vendors, contractors, and external partners to solidify project execution.

The ideal candidate has:

• A Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy preferred) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the solar energy industry, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership or management role overseeing large-scale commercial and utility-scale projects.
• Demonstrated expertise in NEC, ASCE codes, and other relevant industry regulations for large-scale solar projects.
• Deep technical knowledge of solar energy systems, including PV design, grid integration, energy storage solutions, and financial modeling for large-scale projects.
• Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex, multi-million dollar engineering projects on time and within budget.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with a strong ability to influence and inspire teams.
• Strategic mindset and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex challenges.
• Proficient in project management software and tools for large-scale projects.
