Role Overview

Our client seeks a Director of Development to oversee a development team & spearhead the development of projects on the eastern half of the U.S.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Hold regular meetings with members of the team
• Oversee team workflow & prioritization
• Demonstrate to the team how to accurately assess pertinent documents to determine project feasibility
• Support team members in achieving key targets
• Assess & approve project development cost estimations & budgets
• Guide the team in conducting proper site assessments
• Help team members in their due diligence efforts
• Support higher level staff with team goal setting & prioritizations
• Determine upcoming team workloads
• Oversee project schedules & budgets to ensure key targets are being met
• Develop & ensure that core processes & operations are adhered to
• Spearhead bidding initiatives for partners
• Provide permitting analysis & support
• Lead meetings with internal & third party stakeholders
• Manage external partners

Qualifications

• Located in/near the Northeastern region of the U.S.
• Experience in solar energy, construction or relevant industry
• Experience developing commercial & industrial renewable energy projects
• Battery energy storage development experience is preferable
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Experience managing a team
• Ability to multitask & manage many projects simultaneously
• Self-driven & able to work individually as well as on a team
• Ability to work well remotely
• Strong understanding of solar energy contracts & project economics
