Title: Director, Project Development

Location: NYC preferred, possible consideration of other East Coast cities

Pay range and compensation package:

$175,000 – $200,000 base + bonus (equity options being drafted)

About the Role:

Client is seeking a seasoned solar project development professional to step into a director-level role within their team. Sitting alongside the Director of Finance and reporting directly to the C-Suite team, this individual will help build DG solar projects while hiring, training, and mentoring a small team of developers. Once a team is built, this individual will oversee the development pipeline from a broad view, managing the team and stepping in when necessary to perform important development duties.

As Director of Development, there is an opportunity to learn new technologies such as battery energy storage and green hydrogen. This individual will also gain substantial leadership experience and strategic autonomy to explore and enter new markets.

This individual MUST be a self-starter, eager to leverage this role’s lucrative bonus potential to assist in building the company’s team size and overall revenue. It’s important that this individual feel comfortable working independently but also have the ability to serve as a high-energy, easy-to-work-with team player, collaborator, and leader.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 7+ years experience with solar project development on projects ranging from 1 – 20 MW.
  • Hands-on experience with every step of the project life cycle at some point in their tenure from origination through permitting and other project diligence to construction handover and potential project management of EPCS.
