Job Description

Summary

The Development Associate will provide analytical and project management support for a variety of development projects across multiple segments (low carbon fuels, renewables, and thermal) and across multiple disciplines including due diligence, pricing, strategy, and structuring as well as support of business plans for low carbon fuel production facilities such as ammonia, methanol and renewable natural gas.

  • This position will be involved in every aspect of energy project development and financing, including new project prospecting and permitting, revenue contract negotiation, market analysis and financial modeling and analysis.
  • Coordinate and support commercial pricing strategies for development opportunities and support preparation of proposals
  • Support existing and develop new analysis tools related to the economics of developing low carbon markets, and project specific financial models
  • Provide support on business development activities related to energy transition projects, low carbon energy infrastructure / assets and overall corporate sustainability.
  • Work with JERA team on identifying, evaluating and developing low carbon facilities and assets per JERAs strategic plans
  • Assist JERA Americas team with communications and interaction with JERA HQ staff on projects, evaluations, budgets and approvals
  • Participate in external engagements and stay abreast of key trends and structures evolving in the external market to infuse into current projects.
  • Travel as needed domestically and internationally to meet for business and project development.
  • Work across functional groups such as Legal, Risk Management, Accounting to drive projects forward and ensure daily operation of in-development projects
