Intro
We are growing our team! Renewable Solar Inc is a rapidly growing Energy Service Provider (ESP), currently managing a portfolio of over 200 ongoing PV solar projects with a staff of roughly 100 personnel. We are an alternative energy company looking to carefully construct a team to support each other and grow the business, while carefully maintaining our priorities for our customers. We need an organized and motivated person who is task oriented and a team player.
Major Duties
Renewable Solar is seeking a motivated entry level engineer to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing solar energy systems for our clients. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of engineering process and willing to learn about the solar industry.
Various duties may include, but aren’t limited to:
● Basic design, develop, and implement photovoltaic (PV) systems.
● Analyze client energy needs and develop customized solar energy solutions to meet those needs.
● Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine the best location and configuration for solar energy systems.
● Prepare single line electrical drawings, specifications, and reports for solar energy systems.
● Preparation of calculations including, but not limited to, load flow, grounding, protective device coordination, arc flash, ampacity or others as required.
● Prepare bill of materials and scope of work documents.
● Conduct cost/benefit analyses for various cable constructions, grounding schemes and major equipment.
● Provide technical guidance and support to internal teams and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and suppliers.
● Ensure compliance with all relevant industry and county standards and regulations.
● Stay up-to-date with the latest solar energy technologies and trends.
Requirements of the Position
● Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
● Proficiency in relevant software and tools preferred, such as AutoCAD, Solid Works or other.
Supervisory Controls
Design Engineer l are a critical piece of the RSI Construction team, will report to the Engineering Manager, under the Director of Engineering. The Design Engineer l are expected to work 40-45 hours/week, with core hours being Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM, and available to support non-standard Overtime hours as necessary.
Evaluation Factors
Design Engineer l will be evaluated based on project driven metrics, and their ability to successfully facilitate solar PV projects on time and within budget.
Pay Scale
Design Engineer l compensation will be at market rates, based on qualifications, currently estimated between $22-$25/hour ($45k-$55k/year) + incentives.
