The Role

Location: Hybrid, TBD

Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000

The Decarbonization Project Manager is a statewide, specialist role that supports administration and innovations associated with reducing our emissions. Building off the work of the Sustainability Committee and associated Task Force, the Project Manager will support the strategy, vendor management, reporting, and technical solutions associated with reducing our emissions in our building portfolio, as well as interventions related to our fleet, project initiatives tied to net-0 carbon buildings, and solar offsets.

In this role you will:

  • Lead project administration and tracking for the ongoing work of the Carbon Transition Plan thats currently underway with VEIC.
  • Lead the reporting and database management for monitoring progress towards climate goals and GHG emissions.
  • Support vendor selection and contract scoping for development of a Climate Action Plan and provide leadership and focus on emissions reductions initiatives for that process.
  • Conduct research and fact finding associated with these planning processes, including continued work to build out our dataset of fuel use per building, per property, per year to support ongoing tracking and administration.
  • Research and relationship building on incentive programs with utilities and partner organizations that offer rebates, enrollment benefits, or other financial or otherwise beneficial relationships related to emissions reduction, including, but not limited to Mass Save, MA Clean Energy Center, PowerOptions, National Grid, and Eversource.
  • Identify opportunities for solar implementation – support the process to assess where there are opportunities and what methods and means to employ.
  • Support ongoing implementation, tracking, and reporting associated with priorities identified in the Carbon Transition Plan.
  • Work with the VP of Stewardship and Decarbonization and across the matrix to find opportunities to integrate sustainability priorities into our existing decision-making frameworks and systems (capital planning, operating plans, strategic plan).
  • Support the process to identify opportunities for electric vehicle charging station implementation and work with the VP of Stewardship and AssociateDirector of Asset Management along with other statewide colleagues to establish priority sites and develop an implementation plan

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience related toengineering, environmental management, facilities management, energy efficiency, sustainability, or other resource related fields
  • 3-5 years of experience in project management across complex initiatives, including data management, vendor management, and reporting progress
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams across a complex, matrixed organization
