Job Summary
LG Chem America, Inc. (LGCAI) is actively searching for tax accountant to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The is an individual contributor role and is responsible for the support of income tax provisions, periodical tax return work paper and related forms review, sales & use tax filing, and other state/local tax related tasks with minimal direction

What Youll Be Doing

Essential Functions (include but are not limited to):

  • Support federal and state income tax returns compliance process and work paper preparations for the all its affiliates.
  • Update and maintain tax calendar to ensure accurate and timely filings
  • Support work paper preparations for income tax provision for the all its affiliates.
  • Assist with Sales and Use tax returns for the all its affiliates.
  • Responds to notices and inquiries from various taxing authorities.
  • Assists with tax audits from various taxing authorities.
  • Collaborates with other departments/teams on tax issues and/or provides assistance on projects as requested
  • Assists planning transfer pricing rates on various transactions for entities in North and South America and reviewing annual transfer pricing reports
  • Support R&D tax credit study process
  • Keep up to date with tax changes and industry trends.
  • Review customer sales tax exemption certificates
  • Analyze new supplier (vendor) setups to determine if supplier is 1099 reportable
  • Perform special research projects, analysis and other duties as directed by management

Qualifications, Skills and Experience: What Were Looking For

Competencies/Desired Skills:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from an accredited university or program required.


Requirements:

  • 1-4 years public accounting firm or corporate accounting experience
  • Federal and/or State income tax compliance experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical skills


Preferred Qualification/What Wed Like to See:

  • Experience preparing and reviewing Federal, State and Local tax provisions
  • Experience and knowledge of tax accounting
  • Proficient in current Federal and State Corporate Tax Law
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and presentation
  • Proficiency in the use of PC and Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft Excel, Power Point, Word etc.)
  • Excellent analytical ability to effectively analyze large amounts of financial data.
  • Experience with SAP is highly preferred
