Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Corporate ESG Strategy & Communications Manager, reporting directly to Vice President of Business Development. This person will assist with the implementation of the companys Environment, Social & Governance program and create reports for all relevant stakeholders. This person will lead and/or provide project management support for the implementation of all ESG-related initiatives. This position is based out of any of our corporate offices.

What youll do:

  • Coordinate closely with various corporate function partners (HR, EH&S, Corporate Accounting, etc.) to compile and present monthly and quarterly ESG reporting updates for management and Board of Directors review.
  • Monitor and track various company ESG performance vs. peer companies across multiple raters and rankers and manage the regular cadence of data submission following agreed upon review processes
  • Identify and present opportunities for Atkore to improve its ESG ratings on a regular basis.
  • Lead, drive and track various ESG improvement initiatives.
  • Project-manage and coordinate the process of publishing Atkores annual Sustainability Report.
  • Ensure that the company complies with applicable ESG regulations and standards by informing management of requirements and potential regulations and working to implement plans to comply. Prepare reports and documents to communicate the company’s ESG progress and performance, with a major emphasis on publishing the companys voluntary annual Sustainability Report and associated website content on Atkore.com.
  • Lead the development of the Company’s reporting process with regard to the Companys evolving regulatory reporting requirements in the European Union CSRD, the proposed SEC rules and the proposed rules of the state of California and other evolving jurisdictions
  • Develop and manage plans to reduce and manage ESG risks and environmental impacts, with a focus on GHG reductions. These activities also include project management of decarbonization activities.
  • Attend meetings and report to management on ESG progress and performance.
  • Conduct analysis and review ESG data to identify trends and risks.
  • Address concerns from stakeholders and others on ESG issues, including customers.
  • Monitor and ensure that ESG initiatives and commitments are executed on time and to standard.
  • Track actions taken by the company to minimize ESG risks and environmental impacts.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to determine ESG factors that may affect business activity.
  • Manage ESG budgets and resources and related expenses.
  • Participate in ESG-related conferences, seminars and other professional events.
  • Assist with drafting legal and contractual documents for ESG activities and initiatives.
  • Continue to refine and update ESG functional processes using standard Atkore Business System tool and frameworks.

What youll bring:

  • A bachelors degree in environmental engineering, Accounting, Management, or related field is required. MBA in ESG or Sustainability helpful.
  • 5+ years experience in a corporate or consulting environment with a focus on ESG and/or Sustainability
  • Knowledge of various ESG and sustainability technologies including Sedex and Arcadia and familiarity with requirements for managing submissions for EcoVadis, Carbon Disclosure Project, etc.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills – you’ll be interfacing with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Enviable organization skills – we’re looking for someone that is very detail oriented and comfortable working with numbers.
  • Excellent time management skills – you’ll be handling a variety of tasks simultaneously and will need to be flexible.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Within 3 Months, Youll:

  • Complete your new hire Immersion so that you are ready to excel in your new role.
  • Understand Atkores ESG strategy & Communication processes and other standard work tools.

Within 6 Months, Youll:

  • Work cross-functionally to drive ESG activities, including executing project to assist with achieving external goals.
  • Have been fully involved in the preparation of standard work for internal monthly and quarterly reviews.
  • Have been involved in the preparation of responses to customer ESG requests.
  • Have been involved in submissions for external ESG assessments and monitoring/managing raters and rankers.

Within 12 Months, Youll:

  • Have taken ownership for key ESG Strategy & Communications activities and working cross-functionally driving improvement activities based on evolving compliance and disclosure requirements.
  • Have assisted with the implementation of various decarbonization projects.
  • Have participated in the annual strategic planning process for ESG.
  • Have been involved in publishing the companys annual Sustainability Report.
