Summary

HMH is looking for an intern who would be able to support the transition of hardware interfaces to virtual interface. As an HMH Controls Virtualization Engineering intern, you will be challenged to map out intelligent solutions to real world problems. You will be working with cutting edge technology to ensure we move the world forward while keeping people and the environment safe.

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Working under the direction of the Senior Engineer
  • Develop, implement, and test code to integrate new test methods where required.
  • Generate necessary design documentation (requirements, system architecture, etc).
  • Develop simulation tools
  • Develop virtual machines
  • Executing code reviews
  • Must be able to work independently or within a larger team as required by the project and subsystem.
  • Other duties as assigned.

In this position, you will learn the following:

  • Software design.
  • Testing strategies.
  • Subsea applications.
  • Hardware and Software interface.
  • System networks.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled and working toward completion of Bachelor or Graduate degree from an accredited university or college with Computer Science & Engineering majors preferred.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Ability to code in programming language(s)/ database(s) Example: Java, Python, C, TIA Portal, Unix/Linx, MySQL
  • Good understanding of the windows operating system
  • Good interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across multiple functions to achieve desired results.
  • Ability to work independently or within a larger team as required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office products, i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
