Job Summary:
Rev Renewables is seeking an experienced Controls Manager to join our Asset Management team. This is a remote position located in California.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist Solar and BESS plant staff in troubleshooting and repairing SCADA, EMS, RIG and PLC control systems.
- Participate in control systems factory acceptance testing, commissioning activities at new facilities.
- Take the lead on control systems and communication hardware capital improvements projects for the solar and BESS operating facilities, including communication hardware, EMS, PLC, SCADA, ROC interfaces, DCS, RIG and ISO Metering.
- Provide assistance to construction projects during design review and equipment selection and commissioning.
- Manage RIG and Meter service agreements at the plants.
- Participate in BESS daily plant update calls
- Assist plant staff maintaining communication hardware (Satellite, Radio Ethernet) linking field monitoring equipment to host control systems.
- Provide technical expertise when discussing warranty claims with the operating fleet control system service providers.
- Perform logic and system configuration changes on SCADA, EMS, DCS and PLC based systems.
- Recommends designs and implements modifications to control systems to improve performance, operations and reduce maintenance. Works with BESS engineers, vendors, and other crafts to implement these changes.
- Works closely with engineering, maintenance and operations staff, along with other groups within and outside of Rev Renewables, to quickly resolve technical issues.
- Works under general supervision, taking ownership of project/task completion to meet scheduled due dates, identifying emerging issues and contributing solutions for control system related problems.
- Trains personnel in the application and use of control system and communication hardware concepts, materials, plant design-based equipment, or procedures.
- Directs personnel in established practices, technical and quality assurance procedures.
