We’re seeking a Controls Engineering Manager with expertise in Matlab and Simulink who has experience designing for safety-critical systems, particularly in automotive, aerospace, or medical sectors.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills, mentorship, and support for team members’ growth and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a dynamic team of 11 members, with anticipated growth in 2024.
  • Oversee all aspects of people management, including performance evaluation, talent development, and recruitment processes.
  • Ensure that team output consistently aligns with organizational goals and effectively coordinates with other teams and divisions.
  • Manage operations for firmware development infrastructure, encompassing CI server management and firmware release processes.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in firmware development processes, conducting thorough code reviews, and establishing coding standards.
  • Foster excellent collaboration and communication with adjacent teams (EE, Digital, Validation) to ensure seamless integration and release processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, preferably in a start-up technical or engineering environment.
  • Expertise in Matlab and Simulink, with demonstrated proficiency in real-time embedded systems development.
  • Strong understanding of firmware development processes, including CI/CD, code reviews, and coding standards.
  • Experience managing operations for firmware development infrastructure, including CI server management and release processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with safety-critical systems design principles and experience in automotive, aerospace, or medical industries preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced startup environment and drive innovation and growth within the team.
  • Prior experience in people management, performance evaluation, and recruitment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing challenges in controls engineering.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying updated on emerging technologies and industry trends in controls engineering.
