Join us on our innovative journey and work toward a clean energy future! Job Summary: Our growing company is in search of a Continuous Improvement Coordinator. In this role you will have the opportunity to drive the implementation and sustainment of World Class Manufacturing (WCM) throughout the organization. Alongside the leaders, the Continuous Improvement Coordinator will coach and develop the organization to have a Lean culture and continuous improvement mindset.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Investigate, experiment and implement processes to maximize productivity
  • Provide tactical coaching on Lean Methodology and Continuous Improvement Techniques
  • Provide manufacturing with technical engineering support to implement new products and processes into production
  • Create and maintain an environment of continuous improvement by actively managing projects to improve overall quality
  • Continuously challenges the status quo understood as a day-to-day activity in the factory
  • Proactive problem solving based on statistical analysis
  • Prioritizing employee safe practices
  • Selection and development of tools and fixtures for improvements
  • Conduct yearly Hexagon Production System assessments, implement gap analysis and set targets to achieve change for the next assessment.
  • Conduct Systematic Approach to Lean workshops. Set up quarterly workshops, develop Value Stream Maps, Rolling Top 5 tool (RT5) and mini-teach for the workshop.
  • Must be able to show change and sustainability of the change.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Full understanding of lean methodologies from theory to implementation with the ability to coach all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Visio and Project experience preferred
  • Proficient with plan, do, check, act (PDCA) problem solving methodology
  • Knowledge of System Continuous Improvement Process (CIP)
  • Ability to communicate effectively using the English language, both written and verbal,
  • Travel up to 10% of the time within the US and internationally
  • Have the flexibility to adjust work hours and schedule to support internal and external customer needs
  • Professional organization involvement is desired, such as American Society for Quality (ASQ), Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME), Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME), Association. for Operations Management (APICS), Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE), or other similar
  • Experience with supervisory control and data acquisition (SCDA) a plus

Education, Certifications And Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Industrial Engineering Program with an ABET accredited university in an ABET accredited engineering or engineering technology program with 5 years minimum of applicable experience.
  • Or a minimum of 10-15 years of experience in an automotive OEM or tier 1 supplier.
  • Other certifications, such as Lean, Training Within the Industry (TWI), Blue Grass Automotive Manufacturing Association (BAMA), Six Sigma Black/Green Belt, etc. are desired. UK certification for lean, Michigan State certification for lean.
  • Lean methodology/tools such as mistake-proofing (poke-yoke), value stream mapping & design (VSM & VSD), and Kaizen, Six Sigma, Red X training (lean methodologies), and RT5.
  • Must be United States citizen, lawful permanent resident or otherwise eligible to work in the United States
