Construction Manager – Utility-Scale Solar Projects
I am working with several clients who are looking for Construction Managers with Utility Scale Solar experience to support projects across the USA on long term contracts.
As a CM, you will travel the USA completing one project to the next.
Role / Responsibilities:
- Contractor Management: Select, hire, and oversee subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors. Manage contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure compliance with project requirements and regulations.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure construction activities meet industry standards, project specifications, and safety regulations.
- Site Supervision: Provide on-site supervision and direction to construction teams, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and timelines.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, architects, and regulatory authorities. Communicate project progress, issues, and resolutions effectively and proactively.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address construction-related challenges, such as weather delays, material shortages, or regulatory changes.
- Budget and Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and manage cost-control measures to ensure projects are delivered within budgetary constraints.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, records, and reports. Prepare regular progress reports, financial summaries, and other project-related documentation as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction management, preferably within the renewable energy or utility-scale solar industry.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and regulations.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant certifications e.g OSHA
Location: USA (with potential travel to project sites nationwide)
