Position Summary

Gemma Power Systems is seeking a full-time Construction IT Helpdesk Technician to join our team. Gemma’s IT department is focused on supporting, implementing, and improving the business functions required to provide field support and essential back-office capabilities to employees. Gemma is looking for a self-motivated individual who appreciates learning, teaching, meeting challenges and providing leadership to peers.

Position Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for owning technological aspects of the project site while developing relationships and implementing required IT technologies at each site. The Construction IT Helpdesk Technician will also serve as first line of IT support for all of Gemma’s projects.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure policies & procedures for IT and other operational departments are met.
  • Support adoption of technology at the site while providing feedback & refinements to improve processes.
  • Provide jobsite IT management.
  • Manage procurement of jobsite IT technology.
  • Provide end user computer management.
  • Provide mobile device management.
  • Manage peripherals, including printers, scanners, and copiers.
  • Perform network setup, maintenance, diagnosis, and decommissioning.
  • Support physical & information security policies adherence at jobsite location.
  • Lead technology adoption & support, including Timekeeping, Digital Onboarding, Construction Software Initiatives, Document Management, and Project Management.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Education And Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Information Technology or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience working for an IT Helpdesk or similar role.
  • Other relevant IT systems and field experience is desired.
  • Good understanding of Windows Server Environments and networking protocols and concepts.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and time management skills.
  • Ability to diagnose IT problems and provide prompt solutions.
  • Work boots must be worn when on-site.
  • Must be willing and able to work in indoor & outdoor environments, depending on the needs of the project site.
