Communications Manager
What We’re Looking For
As the Communications Manager, you will lead strategic communications efforts to enhance understanding of our organization’s mission and engage with key stakeholders. Based within our Communications & Customer Service group, you will oversee a dedicated team focused on stakeholder communications, internal communications, crisis management, and more.
Responsibilities
Manage and mentor the Communications Team, overseeing day-to-day activities and fostering team growth.
Develop and execute communication strategies aligned with organizational goals, including public engagement, stakeholder relations, and transparency initiatives.
Collaborate closely with senior leadership and colleagues to deliver technical, programmatic, and market insights on energy efficiency and renewable energy topics.
Ensure timely and accurate public reporting and transparency efforts, including managing data requests and enhancing reporting tools.
Support internal communications to align staff with organizational priorities, working closely with HR and departmental leaders.
Provide strategic communications support to the Executive Director and senior management, including crisis communications as needed.
Lead the development and review of stakeholder communications materials, ensuring clarity and alignment with organizational objectives.
Stay informed of policy developments and market trends impacting our services and programs.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position oversees a team of communications professionals and manages external service contracts.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, political science, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum seven years of experience in communications management, preferably in a public sector or policy-driven environment.
Proven experience leading teams and managing complex communications projects.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with SharePoint a plus.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
