Role Overview:

Our Client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commercial Counsel to join their Legal team. The ideal candidate will have 3-7 years of experience in commercial legal matters related to renewable energy transactions. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks governing renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transaction Support: Lead and support legal aspects of renewable energy transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), joint ventures, and project finance agreements.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards. Provide legal advice on regulatory matters and manage interactions with regulatory bodies.
• Risk Management: Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Provide proactive legal solutions to support business objectives.
• Advisory Role: Act as a trusted advisor to senior management and other departments on commercial and legal matters related to renewable energy projects.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers, finance teams, and external partners, to ensure alignment and successful execution of projects.
• Contract Management: Oversee contract administration, including amendments, renewals, and dispute resolution.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 3-7 years of experience as a commercial lawyer with a focus on renewable energy transactions.
• Education: Law degree from an accredited institution. Admission to practice law.
• Expertise: Strong knowledge of renewable energy sector regulations, market practices, and contract law.
• Skills: Excellent negotiation, drafting, and communication skills. Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear, actionable advice.
