An engineering internship opportunity for the Spring of 2025 is available on the AES Ohio Applications Development team.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Technology, GIS, or a related field.
• Experience with GIS software and tools, such as ArcGIS or QGIS.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to troubleshoot user issues.
• Knowledge of Google Cloud Technologies or similar cloud-based platforms.
• Familiarity with Python or other programming languages is a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• An academic standing of Junior or higher is preferred.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of GIS applications and databases.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for database management and data analysis.
• Provide customer service support for internal and external application users.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet business needs.
• Participate in the full lifecycle of application development, from concept to deployment.
• Support existing utilities applications and contribute to new development projects.
• Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies.
