Solar Business Development Manager

SBDM will seek out and deliver commercial and utility scale solar development projects. This person will craft a clear and concise plan of action to seek out new sales opportunities for the Commercial Solar Business Unit and then lead the resulting acquisition activities including identifying prospective client needs, site opportunity evaluation, solar project design, financial analyses, proposal writing, project due diligence, engineering review and ultimately turning prospects into customers by closing deals. The SBDM will travel regionally, as required, to meet their planned level of business activity.

Primary Location Pittsburgh PA, also servicing WV, OH, NJ and DC

Responsibilities:

  • Produce pipeline of solar projects stemming from your own prospecting, incoming leads and referrals. These projects may include cash purchases, power purchase agreements (PPAs), competitive bid RFPs, developer subcontracts and uncontracted projects (mid & late stage development assets).
  • Identify and pursue targeted business sectors within the above ranges of opportunity types.
  • Develop network of construction industry contacts and relationships among contractors, architects and engineers to become their first call when a project opportunity arises.
  • Point of contact with clients before, during and after their project lifecycle.
  • Create and maintain a list of opportunities and their status
  • Recommend project deal structures for pipeline acquisitions or co-development transactions
  • Develop and issue written proposals in collaboration with other team members.
  • Research opportunities and perform initial due diligence
  • Develop financial analyses using solar financial software applications
  • Develop internal presentations for approval process and management updates
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key players in the green building ecosystem to enhance deal flow

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 – $150,000.00 per year

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
