We are currently growing our energy transition operations capability. We are looking for a passionate and hardworking Business Development Manager (local candidates strongly preferred) who is seeking a challenging opportunity that is comfortable functioning independently and as part of a team.


Company and Role Summary

The Lisbon Group provides services within three primary core competencies: Engineering, EPC project execution and management, and Operations Services. We use our recognized expertise in upstream, midstream and LNG production facilities to provide full multi-disciplinary engineering services, EPC Contracting, and operational services. We are a learning organization and take the lessons learned from the projects we complete to continuously improve each of our core competencies. We are looking for a Business Development Manager with a strong ability to cultivate new leads through active prospecting, growing relationships and accounts, and maintaining relationships with existing clients.

If you have an exceptional hands-on business development background with a track record of growing new business and are interested in gaining exposure in the energy transition sector (LNG, NGL, decarbonization, H2, ammonia, etc.) than this may be the right opportunity for you. This role will report to the Managing Director and will be a pivotal part of the foundation of our growing team.


Mission:

The mission of the Business Development Manager is to grow the business by acquiring new engineering services and EPC accounts resulting in increased revenue of >20% within 12 months. Establish Engineering Services and EPC LSTK estimating standard and translate customer demands to clear and actionable scopes of work.


Key outcomes:

  • Develop potential new account relationships resulting in a minimum 3 new account progressing through the complete pipeline sequence, from prospect, initial sales meeting, proposal, follow-up sales meeting, negotiations, and contract within 12 months
  • Support business development group in acquisition of at least one baseload facility technical support MSA within 12 months
  • Support business development in the acquisition of at minimum 1 LSTK project within 18 months
  • Support business development resulting in the addition of at minimum 4 new accounts within 12 months
  • Support business development with the acquisition of new business from existing and new accounts resulting in 20% increase in YoY gross revenue within 12 months

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver new accounts and grow existing accounts in a team-oriented business development approach. We close work closely as a team to ensure the greatest success in closing new and growing existing accounts
  • Uncover and fully understand clients current state, desired state and needs in order to develop a strategic plan to achieve the clients goals
  • Coordinate meetings, discovery sessions and presentations with clients to convey the organizations value proposition
  • Properly manage the assigned activity pipeline which will allow you to report on your sales and proposal activity
  • Work closely with Business Development Team in support of proposal development, specific to project scoping, engineering deliverables and estimating
  • Manage internal systems and processes to ensure proper estimating and information flow execution
  • Support the preparation and deliver effective, detailed, professional sales proposals and communicate them to all levels of a customers organization
  • Ensure proper documentation is in place for all quotes, working closely with the assigned Subject Matter Experts internally including Upfront Engineering, Detail Engineering, EPC and Operations
  • Maintain ongoing communication and updates with the Business Development Team for any of the proposals engaged with proposal updates, client issues, risks, needs, sales/opportunity status, etc.
  • Provide timely and responsive replies to clients, vendors and co-workers
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the global LNG, LPG, NGL and the Gas Storage/Processing industry and all Lisbon Group products and service. Maintain thorough knowledge of competitor products and services
  • Provide input to the annual marketing and strategic planning
  • Become active in industry related organizations and with market organizations that you are primarily selling
  • Other duties as may be required or assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Previous experience with engineering contractor business development experience required
  • 8+ years related offshore and onshore upstream, midstream, and LNG experience
  • International project experience is a major plus as we do work around the globe
  • Strong technical business development background, previous front-end, EPCm, Operational Engineering background preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including proposal writing and PowerPoint
  • A proven ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Experience developing new relationships, new account acquisition, existing account management, managing sales pipeline
  • Relationship driven: demonstrated ability to develop new and manage existing relationships
