What we do

Maverick BioMetals extracts lithium, other battery metals, and rare earth elements from hard rock using engineered enzymes. Our process is more cost effective and greener (reduced environmental contaminants and CO2 emissions) than the current acid roasting extraction method.

The role

As a Business Development Manager at Maverick BioMetals, you will work closely with our COO, Jesse Evans. As the first hire in this department, you will have the opportunity to take on lots of responsibility and ownership early on. You will play a key role in the commercialization of our technology and building commercial relationships. This role will be varied as company needs change, you can expect to be adaptive and proactive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and manage customer and commercial relationships
  • Research, identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Manage customer projects, including coordination between the technical teams and operations teams, ensuring timely deliverables and communication to the executive team
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align on company goals and strategies
  • Own new responsibilities as we continue to scale

Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in business development, management consulting, investment banking customer success, and/or project management
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A creative mind with an ability to suggest improvements
  • Highly motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Nice to haves: experience in a client-facing role; mining, mineral processing, and/or renewable energy experience
