  • Salary: Between INR 1,874,424 – 3,201,392 gross annually

The Role

The role is a senior position within Austrade’s Trade team.

Key responsibilities are to maintain relationships with existing customers and to develop meaningful new relationships with Indian and Australian companies. You will be required to work collaboratively within a team to provide high quality advice and support services that enable Trade decisions. You will be in the Green Economy team with a focus on Sustainable Mining and Clean Energy.

We seek genuine team players with deep experience, confidence, and presence to engage with the highest levels of decision makers within government and private businesses. You will be able to identify and communicate opportunities for companies to grow their business interests through Trade and Investment with Australia.

The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the Green Economy sector (Sustainable Mining, Eco-cities, Clean Energy and Circular economy), the issues that are important to international business, and what the implications of these are for supporting trade between India & Australia.

Duties include

  • As Business Development Director for the Green Economy sector, you will:
  • Build commercial relationships and networks to enable greater engagement for Australian

businesses in India

  • Identify regional industry trends, major policy changes and assess their impact on trade opportunities and provide insights into the development of trade strategies for Australia.
  • Promote market engagement opportunities through effective use of Austrade’s online presence, prepare and publish regular insights and success stories for increased two-way market literacy between Australia and India.
  • Manage and grow a client portfolio, providing customised services to assist Australian businesses with market entry or expansion in India and generate commercial outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to promote Australia as a world-class exporter of products, services and knowledge in this sector at relevant conferences and business events.
  • Represent Austrade and Australia by playing a key role in promoting and supporting Australian business, optimising existing and establishing new business networks to take advantage of trade and investment opportunities.
  • Promote market engagement opportunities through effective use of Austrade’s online presence.
  • Assist in-market visits of Australian companies to raise the profile of Australian Green Economy capability and foster new business linkages.
  • Develop and maintain productive high-level business networks with partners, end users, off takers, industrial technology and manufacturing stakeholders aligned to the green economy sector to identify and facilitate India – Australia cooperation across the value chain.
  • Monitor and assess key sustainable mining and clean energy trends as well as significant commercial developments in the market and provide insights pieces.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration and appointment you must have:

  • Work Authorisation – to be eligible for employment with Austrade in India, candidates must be legally authorised to live and work in India at the time of appointment.
  • Language – the successful candidate must be a highly motivated team member, fluent in written and spoken English
  • Security Clearance – the successful applicant must be willing to complete an Entry Level Screening Pack and be confirmed as a suitable person to access Government resources prior to commencement in the role.
