The Building Mechanical Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing mechanical systems for industrial buildings. This role involves creating detailed mechanical designs, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and collaborating with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver efficient and effective building systems.
This opportunity is based out of Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV. Relocation assistance is available.
Design Development: Create detailed mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and other systems using REVIT software. Develop system layouts, equipment specifications, and installation details that meet project requirements and industry standards. Working closely with the lead Mechanical Engineer.
Technical Analysis: Perform calculations and simulations to ensure the mechanical systems are energy-efficient, cost-effective, and compliant with relevant building codes and regulations. Analyze system performance and make necessary adjustments to optimize functionality.
Collaboration and Coordination: Work closely with architects, structural engineers, and other design professionals to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly into building designs. Participate in design meetings and provide technical input to address design challenges and ensure project objectives are met.
Documentation and Compliance: Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports. Ensure all designs and installations comply with applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
Project Support: Provide support during construction phases, including responding to RFI (Requests for Information), reviewing shop drawings, and conducting site inspections to ensure proper installation and system performance.
Experience in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.
Professional experience in mechanical design for building systems, with a strong portfolio demonstrating relevant projects.
Proficiency in REVIT software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and mechanical design tools.
In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and industry best practices related to HVAC, plumbing, and other systems.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform complex calculations and analyses.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
