BESS Technician

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Battery Storage Technician to join our team in Houston, Texas. This position focuses on the commissioning, troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of battery storage systems. The ideal candidate will be passionate about renewable energy and possess a strong technical background in battery technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Commissioning: Oversee the commissioning of battery storage systems, ensuring all components are properly installed and operational.
• Installation: Install battery storage systems at various sites, following safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to battery systems, including electrical and mechanical faults.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on battery storage systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of installation and maintenance activities, including troubleshooting reports and service logs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to support the successful implementation of battery storage projects.
• Training: Provide training and support to site personnel on the operation and maintenance of battery storage systems.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience in installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining battery storage systems or similar technologies.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with various battery technologies (e.g., lithium-ion, lead-acid).
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems and energy storage applications.
• Relevant certifications in electrical or energy storage fields.
