Overview
The Manager of Battery Storage will oversee all elements of battery storage project design, technical innovation, estimating activities, and preconstruction project management as described below. This position aims to boost company profitability and value by providing inventive, cost-effective technical solutions, realistic project budgets, and strong project leadership.
Responsibilities
– Recruit and nurture engineering, estimating, and project management team members who reflect the company’s Core Principles and advocate for Preferred Selection.
– Create, implement, and continually refine best practices, standards, and review procedures for the Engineering and Estimating teams.
– Foster innovation and creativity in design tools, processes, and plant technology to position the company as an industry leader in engineering, procurement, and construction.
– Engage regularly with Engineering, Estimating, and Procurement teams to ensure that BESS processes adhere to company standards and best practices.
– Collaborate with subject matter experts to address all technical considerations and site conditions while ensuring cost-effectiveness, constructability, and risk management.
– Manage BESS engineering activities to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded, delivering top-tier technical solutions.
– Coordinate internal and external reviews to guarantee that all conceptual designs satisfy project requirements and optimize cost, performance, constructability, and risk.
– Oversee pricing efforts for detailed and indicative BESS opportunities.
– Ensure the accuracy and completeness of all estimates before submission.
– Direct detailed engineering efforts to guarantee timely delivery of all deliverables, compliance with customer and AHJ requirements, adherence to quality standards, and alignment with budget expectations.
– Conduct technical evaluations of selected materials to ensure they meet all internal and external specifications.
– Support Operations by resolving RFIs, field changes, and other design-related issues, including assessing any proposed changes to project design requirements, material specifications, or methods.
– Assist with contract negotiations for client and subcontractor scopes.
– Oversee the Lessons Learned process with Preconstruction and Construction Teams to ensure that best practices are applied to future projects.
