Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop bottoms-up and top-down cost models for individual components as well as assemblies
  • Ensuring all safety and health standards are met to keep an organization accident-free
  • Communicating regularly with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting cost or supply of materials/components/assemblies
  • Work directly with engineering teams to provide feedback to suppliers and understand material performance in coin, pouch, and cylindrical cells
  • Develop material specifications, in conjunction with engineering teams for all materials in BOM
  • Engage directly with quality teams to help develop critical metrics and assist in development of QA/QC program for incoming materials
  • Understand and develop (internally and with suppliers) novel processing and production methods for new materials and lead the team to develop milestones and timelines as well as coordinate with engineering and production staff to run material trials
  • Developing workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering field AND a minimum of 7 years of experience in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years direct management experience of leading a team of 5 of more in a process manufacturing environment
  • Experience in supplier development and quality management systems.
  • Strong analytical skills required. This includes experience with standard quality tools such as DOE, SPC, FMEA, and Process Mapping.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills: including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Preferred:
  • High volume battery manufacturing experience is strongly preferred
  • Understanding of supplier onboarding and QA/QC processes are desired
  • Advanced degree such as M.S., Ph.D., or M.B.A. is preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to work standing for many hours per day.
Compensations Range:
The expected base salary range for this position is between

$127,000.00 – $190,600.00

The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise.

We generally do not negotiate on salary once we have made an offer. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include location, relevant prior experience and/or education, or particular skills and expertise. New hires joining the company tend to be paid within the starting base pay range noted above, with opportunities to increase pay over time based on development of additional skills, competencies, and company-specific knowledge.
In addition to base pay this position is eligible for tier based bonus and equity, healthcare, dental, vision, corporate discounts, paid holidays, PTO and sick time, 401K, employee relocation plan (if applicable)
