Job Description

  • Engineering and optimizing the stations of their scope and ensuring their readiness along the project milestones for a General Assembly workshop.
  • Working with the other metrics to ensure each station meets all requirements (ergonomics, safety, process, etc.) to be fully operational and bought off.
  • Pulling key stakeholders together on a regular basis to plan and design workstations.
  • Addressing quickly any issue and tracking their resolution through available quality tools (Checklists, Kaizen Journals, open issue lists, etc.).
  • Ensuring the operator footprint and interface with the Performance Feedback System
  • Conducting SLPR audits
  • Updating the CAD to match the expected layout.
  • Conducting field checks / vendor layout reviews, etc.
  • Tracking inaccuracies
  • Change Management: managing and documenting changes related to scroll update after scroll freeze
  • Being a proactive member of the launch process and opening issues against other groups for topics that are detrimental to Station Readiness, then tracking those issues until closure.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Automotive Industrial Engineering, including project management
  • 2+ years of General Assembly Workstation design / audit (Final Trim preferred)
  • Launch experience
  • Experience interacting and compromising with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience managing suppliers
  • Experience in change management in industrial environments
  • Proficient in MS Office Including Excel and Access
  • Basic knowledge of ergonomics, tooling, torque tool, logistics / material display and industrial safety principles
  • Experience working in a union environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience utilizing Team center, SLPR, PFS preferred
  • In addition, Proficient in the Autodesk Product Design & Manufacturing Collection (in particular : Inventor, Factory Design Utilities, AutoCAD 2D/3D, Navisworks

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in industrial engineering, or related field/work experience.
