Job Description

Associate Managers on the Sustainability Policy, and Advisory (SPA) team lead projects to assist clients along their sustainability journey. This position is expected to lead projects including life cycle assessments, greenhouse gas footprints, decarbonization models, and emissions target setting, with opportunity to work on qualitative projects such as sustainability reporting, materiality assessments, and policy analysis.

The ideal candidate is an early-to-mid-career or career-transitioning professional with the desire to use and improve their analytical and managerial skills to deliver high-quality sustainability consulting engagements, ClimeCo advises a spectrum of clients operating in sectors ranging from industrial manufacturing and consumer-facing goods to decarbonization startups and much more.

Responsibilities

Associate Manager ? Key Responsibilities

  • Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs): Develop ISO-compliant LCA models (cradle-to-gate & cradle-to-grave) for regulatory (e.g. Section 45Q Tax Credit) and non-regulatory (e.g. Science Based Targets initiative) applications and guide LCAs through external third-party critical review processes.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct corporate greenhouse gas inventories (Scopes 1-3), decarbonization models, marginal abatement cost curves (MACC), target-setting models, and more, including data collection, spreadsheet creation and calculations, and QAQC.
  • Technical Reports: Draft LCA Reports and Models aligned to ISO Standards, as well as Inventory Management Plans and Climate Action Plans aligned to GHG Protocol and EPA Guidelines.

Associate Manager ? General Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management: Oversee communications with clients, including hosting regular meetings, leading presentations, answering questions, developing follow-on projects, and ensuring client satisfaction
  • Project Management: Manage projects effectively by delegating tasks, tracking time and budget accurately, proactively communicating issues, supervising colleagues, being accountable for delivering timely, high-quality deliverables, and communicating actionable information to clients and stakeholders through reports, presentations, and workshops
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Manage QAQC processes during project execution with support of project team and other subject matter experts
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Develop subject matter expertise across core services in sustainability consulting (e.g. LCAs, footprints, decarbonization, etc.) to provide relevant and useful advice to clients
  • Knowledge Sharing: Teach other staff members about subject matter and consulting basics and help colleagues to optimize project processes and find efficiencies when possible
  • Additional Support: Support team with other project types on an as-needed basis, including climate risk and opportunities assessment, supply chain engagement, feasibility studies, sustainability reporting, renewable energy strategy, and much more
  • Business Development: Assist in and lead the development of proposals, including talking to prospective clients, scoping of tasks and timeline, estimating budgets, and gathering additional information to support the sales process
  • People Management: Guide the professional development of colleagues and direct reports
  • Team Culture: Build a culture of collaboration, intellectual curiosity, accountability, and empathy
