Associate Managers on the Sustainability Policy, and Advisory (SPA) team lead projects to assist clients along their sustainability journey. This position is expected to lead projects including sustainability reporting, materiality/double materiality assessments, stakeholder engagement, and benchmarking with opportunity to work on quantitative projects such as greenhouse gas accounting, life cycle assessments, target-setting, and more.

Responsibilities
Associate Manager Key Responsibilities
- Sustainability Writing: Lead copywriting and report development, including CEO letters, greenhouse gas summaries, and case studies, with a particular focus on corporate sustainability, decarbonization, climate risk reporting, and other environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues
- Reporting Frameworks: Align content of sustainability reports to global standards and frameworks (e.g. SASB, TCFD, GRI, etc.), including the development of alignment-indexes
- Stakeholder Engagement: Manage Subject Matter Expert interviews (including C-level and board level executives), take own notes, and transform key messages into digestible content aligned to ESG issues
- Communication Strategy: Lead development of ESG communications and reporting plans that include materiality assessments, including key messages creation and qualitative analyses including, but not limited to, stakeholder interviews, desktop research, competitor benchmarking, employee surveys, industry workshops, and strategy development
Associate Manager General Responsibilities
- Client Relationship Management: Oversee communications with clients including hosting regular meetings, leading presentations, answering questions, developing follow-on projects, and ensuring client satisfaction
- Project Management: Manage projects effectively by delegating tasks, tracking time and budget accurately, proactively communicating issues, supervising colleagues, being accountable for delivering timely, high-quality deliverables, and communicating actionable information to clients and stakeholders through reports, presentations, and workshops
- Quality Assurance and Control: Manage QAQC processes during project execution with support of project team and other subject matter experts
- Subject Matter Expertise: Develop subject matter expertise across core services in sustainability consulting (e.g. ESG reporting, decarbonization, etc.) to provide relevant and useful advice to clients
- Knowledge Sharing: Teach other staff members about subject matter and consulting basics and help colleagues to optimize project processes and find efficiencies when possible
- Additional Support: Support team with other project types on an as-needed basis including climate risk and opportunities assessment, supply chain engagement, feasibility studies, decarbonization planning, renewable energy strategy, and much more
- Business Development: Assist in and lead the development of proposals including talking to prospective clients, scoping of tasks and timeline, estimating budgets, and gathering additional information to support the sales process
- People Management: Guide the professional development of colleagues and direct reports
