A leading player in on-site renewable energy solutions, is looking for an Associate General Counsel to support their rapid expansion in the Solar PV Energy, Battery Storage and Electric Vehicle Charging space. In this role, you will collaborate closely with leadership and internal teams to review and draft contracts, lead negotiations, and manage all internal legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and review a variety of contracts related to operations across the United States. This includes turnkey installation agreements for solar systems, storage solutions, and EV chargers, as well as power purchase agreements, energy services contracts, and operational service agreements. Additional contract types include software licenses, vendor agreements, subcontracts, hardware sales or purchases, site leases, and project sale agreements.
- Lead negotiations with external parties and coordinate inter-company work streams to ensure smooth contract execution.
- Provide legal support and serve as the primary contact for internal business and management teams. This involves interpreting and applying legal requirements specific to the companies activities, advising on contract strategies, and offering risk and business insights on commercial issues.
- Develop and enhance legal systems, contract templates, processes, and playbooks to strengthen the company’s legal and compliance functions. Manage workflow, provide activity reports, and stay informed about the company’s vision, mission, services, and competitive landscape to effectively communicate the business’ offerings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree and active membership in a State Bar Association.
- 6 to 10 years of legal experience in relevant areas such as renewable energy, distributed generation, technology, construction, project finance, or energy.
- Strong listening and communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead contract drafting, negotiation, and implementation.
- Driven by business results with a solid sense of accountability, metrics, and ownership.
- Meticulous attention to detail throughout the contract lifecycle.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and thrive in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment.
- Proactive self-starter capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, and other Office products.
- Organized and forward-thinking approach to legal matters.
