Position Specific Description

The position requires working from the Juno Beach office supporting projects across the United States. This position is in the Environmental Diligence & Permitting Section of the Corporate Environmental Services Department supporting project development for NextEra Energy Resources and other NextEra Energy affiliates.

The position provides the opportunity to use your environmental knowledge and education to help evaluate and acquire permits for renewable energy projects.

You will support/advise multidisciplinary teams on environmental site constraints (e.g., wetlands, wildlife) and permitting strategies to facilitate development of a broad range of energy projects including wind and solar; energy storage such as batteries and hydrogen; as well as transmission lines.

Primary responsibilities include supporting senior staff in prospecting/diligencing, development and environmental permitting of projects throughout North America.

This position offers a base salary with eligibility for bonus.

Job Overview

Employees in this job support environmental staff in obtaining environmental approvals, licenses and permits for construction and operation of new and existing NextEra, Inc. facilities from Federal, State and Regional agencies.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the company’s compliance with environmental requirements
  • Supports environmental aspects of company operations, such as, compliance, reporting, monitoring, remediation, and environmental permitting functions
  • Monitors and analyzes environmental policies and regulations that affect the company and its customers
  • Provides the necessary support to staff to resolve environmental matters
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
