Description The Energy Service Sales Manager/Assistant Manager will play a key role in expanding our business beyond PV modules to include Energy Storage Systems, Energy Retail, and Solar Finance. The primary focus of this position will be on managing CA SREC (Solar Renewable Energy Credits) and VPP (Virtual Power Plants) as well as TX VPP initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Overview/Summary
  • Manage Energy Service Sales by pairing PV systems with BESS for both new households and those with existing installations during the PV sales process.

(* Actively engage in the sales process alongside other internal teams at HQCA for Modules, BESS, EnFin, Axia, and the ES Platform, ensuring a cohesive and integrated sales approach.)

  • Collaborate with the Senior Energy Service Sales Manager to enhance B2B channel strategy, streamline sales operations, and strengthen value chain partnerships.
  • Sales and Customer Onboarding Process
  • Manage Energy Service Sales, focusing on pairing PV systems and BESS for new households and those with existing systems.
  • Oversee the energy service onboarding process for newly onboarded partners such as installers, sales organizations, brokers, etc.
  • Training Process
  • Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing support to ensure partners are knowledgeable about energy service sales.
  • Marketing Support
  • Assist the Marketing team in preparing B2C channel activities.
  • Collaborate on marketing campaigns and initiatives to promote energy services and enhance customer engagement.
  • Market Analysis and Intelligence:
  • Gather and analyze market intelligence to support strategic decision-making and sales planning.

 Ensure timely delivery of tasks and align with HQCA’s goals and vision.

Perform any other assigned duties: Work closely with the Senior Energy Service Sales Manager to enhance the B2B channel strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree; in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 – 4 years of experience in sales or marketing within the energy industry, particularly in Solar Buyback sales, Energy Storage Systems, and Virtual Power Plants.
  • Proven track record in managing sales processes and achieving targets.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills, project management, change management, and group process skills.
  • Understanding of Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) and Virtual Power Plants (VPPs), particularly in California and Texas.
  • Understanding of the economics of solar roofing, and general market behavior in the residential solar industry (e.g. Net Metering and Solar Buyback Plan mechanisms in deregulated areas in Texas)
  • Comfortable working with various stakeholders, including Solar Finance, Contractors, Installers, and 3rd party sales organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
